Transistor Radio for the week of November 18-December 1, 2015

This week on In Store: Selections From Transistor’s Live Performance Archive, host Jon Monteverde has a February 2013 set from Steven Gilpin. Steven plays upside down guitar and ukulele and sings dusty folk pop. His songs have an air of nostalgia and self deprecation– a celebration of love, loss, doubt, disenchantment and hope.

On Sideshow, Bloodshot Scott draws from the wellspring of the No Depression movement. He pays homage to those who ignited the flame in the first place; waves to those who continued to carry the flame Olympian-style; and also gives a nod to those still standing, who will continue to fan the flames. Thankfully, said wellspring was spiked when he got there.

And as always, Andy Miles kicks things off with 15 Songs; this week he has new music from Beach House and Deerhunter, and archival tracks from Brian Eno, The Jam, PJ Harvey and Cream.

We hope you’ll have a listen.
