Transistor Radio for the week of January 27-February 2, 2015

This week we add two programs to the roster, “Depth of Field,” a mix of news, music and conversation concerning all things Transistor (this week host Andy Miles talks to Transistor co-founder Rani Young), and “Gems of the Week,” a webcast version of Andrea Garces’ weekly Soundcloud playlist (experimental electronica, UK Garage, trip-hop, electro-funk, hip-hop, glitch-dub, and more). Also this week Andy Miles has a new song from Bjork on his “15 Songs” show, Jon Monteverde offers up live recordings from Chicago acts Spaces of Disappearance and Low Swans on “In Store: Selections From Transistor’s Live Performance Archive,” and Mike Benz gives us part two of his two-part “Unified Field Theory” mix (minimal techno and balearic house). Plus Nino Arobelidze premiers a song from her forthcoming album on the show “Bring Your Own Beat.”
