Transistor Radio for the week of March 24-30, 2015

This week Andy Miles’ “15 Songs” include new tracks from Modest Mouse, Sufjan Stevens, Waxahatchee and Mélanie De Biasio remixed my Gilles Peterson and Simbad. Jon Monteverde features the sweet indie-soul-pop of La Patrie and the jazz of SRS Organ Trio on “In Store: Selections From Transistor’s Live Performance Archive.” “Bring Your Own Beat” is the show in which Transistor Radio invites sound artists of all kinds to create an original piece for the webcast; this week it’s trip-hop soul from Blackdaylight, who will be performing at Transistor this Friday night. DJ Tashtego is enraged by the return of the snow and made a set of “all bangers, all drubbin’ beats, all pummelin’ bass”; Crystal Castles, Digitalism, Deadmau5 and Gesaffelstein are featured. Andrea Garces’ “Gems of the Week” include future dub, future funk, progressive hip-hop and chillwave tracks. And tune in for disco, funk and soul from Lechstafari on “Blame It On The Boogie,” and indie & archival rock from “The Good Music Show” and “Stereo Hysteria.” We hope you’ll have a listen.
