Transistor Radio for the week of April 14-20, 2015

This week Jon Monteverde features a 2011 live recording of Bloomington, Indiana indie rock quartet Dreamers of the Ghetto on his show “In Store: Selections From Transistor’s Live Performance Archive,” and Chicago ambient guitarist Matt Pataky, aka hicksoncompactgroup, has contributed an original sound piece for “Bring Your Own Beat.” DJ Tashtego serves up a selection of space disco, nu disco and French house on “Interlopin’,” while Andrea Garces’ “Gems of the Week” offers a blend of future dub, future funk, electro/soul hip-hop, and downtempo. Lechstafari is back after a two-week break with a new installment of “Blame It On The Boogie: Deep & Dirty Disco” and “Sideshow” returns with what what host DJ Bloodshot calls “twisted roots and Americana gothic.” Charlie Crane has made a theme of fools on “Stereo Hysteria,” with songs like Aretha Franklin’s “Chain of Fools.” At the top of the player, as always, it’s “15 Songs.” We hope you’ll have a listen.
