Transistor Radio for the week of April 21-27, 2015

This week on “In Store: Selections From Transistor’s Live Performance Archive,” host Jon Monteverde features a 2013 live recording of Brooklyn-based solo saxophonist Jonah Parzen-Johnson, while “Bring Your Own Beat” debuts two original pieces, one from Pittsburgh-based sound/visual artist David Bernabo, the other from St. Paul-based Nick Jaffe (guitar) and Becca Barniskis (words). Andrea Garces’ “Gems of the Week” offers a blend of downtempo electronic, electro-funk/soul, and bass house. Lechstafari has a special Record Store Day edition of “Blame It On The Boogie: Deep & Dirty Disco” and “The Good Music Show” with Scott & Odie returns with some of their favorite artists covering some of their favorite songs. On “Stereo Hysteria” Charlie Crane features an interview with and a slew of songs from rockabilly great Deke Dickerson. At the top of the player, as always, it’s “15 Songs,” presented by Andy Miles. We hope you’ll have a listen.
