Transistor Radio for the week of May 12-18, 2015

This week on In Store: Selections From Transistor’s Live Performance Archive, host Jon Monteverde features a 2013 recording from Brice & The Inklings (née Powerlines), a Chicago-based “folktronica” duet of Brice Woodall and Sasha Geffen. Bring Your Own Beat has two original pieces from Chicago-based Dutch bassist Albert Wildeman and vocalist, composer and installation artist Carol Genetti. This week on Interlopin’ DJ Tashtego taps into his roots with a mix of the essential sounds from his off-campus house in senior year of college; in this two-part mix expect plenty of Daft Punk and LCD Soundsystem. Andrea Garces’ Gems of the Week include glitch hop, soul/swing, electro soul and future funk tracks, and Lechstafari is back with another installment of Blame It On The Boogie: Deep & Dirty Disco, Funk & Soul. Plus, tune in for DJ Bloodshot Scott’s Women of Bloodshot Records special on Sideshow and spend a golden hour with Charlie Crane’s Stereo Hysteria as he plays songs with that theme, including David Bowie’s “Golden Years” and The Posies’ “Golden Blunders.” Andy Miles’ 15 Songs kicks things off as always; this week he has new music from Django Django, Knxwledge, Matthew E. White and more. We hope you’ll have a listen.
