Transistor Radio for the week of June 3-9, 2015

This week on In Store: Selections From Transistor’s Live Performance Archive, host Jon Monteverde features a 2013 recording of Chicago bluesman Calvin Conway, who was joined that evening on backing vocals by Mary Porzelt; it’s a hot set! Bring Your Own Beat features a trio of original pieces from a trio of Brooklyn musicians: Caroline Davis, Danny Meyer and Tyler Gilmore. OnInterlopin’ DJ Tashtego dusts off his 128 kbps rips of his favorite songs from middle school to create a two-part time capsule of his youth, discovering that the songs – from the likes of Will Smith, No Doubt, Green Day and The Notorious B.I.G – are still awesome; this week it’s part one. Tune in as well for Blame It On The Boogie: Deep & Dirty Disco, Funk & Soul From LechstafariThe Good Music Show with Scott & Odie, and Stereo Hysteria, where host Charlie Crane’s theme this week is Believing. And as always, Andy Miles kicks things off with 15 Songs. We hope you’ll have a listen.
