Transistor Radio for the week of July 29-August 4, 2015

This week on In Store: Selections From Transistor’s Live Performance Archive, host Jon Monteverde features the first set he ever recorded as Transistor’s sound man: solo laptop experimental electronica from Patrick Cosmos (8/17/12).

This week’s Bring Your Own Beat contribution comes from Nino Arobelidze, who says the two pieces she’s recorded “provide a glimpse into a series of collaborations of mine focused on finding commonalities across genres, languages and artistic mediums.” She’ll be performing live at Transistor Friday night, July 31.

Andrea Garces’ Gems of the Week returns with a mix of tech house, deep house and bass, and Blame It On The Boogie: Deep & Dirty Disco from Lechstafari serves up another all-vinyl DJ set. Further down the player, Scott & Odie are back with a new installment of The Good Music Show, and Stereo Hysteria host Charlie Crane presents the latest in his “Late Night Lineup” series; this time he digs up an hour’s worth of live-performance gems from the archive of the long-running series “Austin City Limits,” with a mix of jangly and twangy recordings that go back as far as 1980. As always, Andy Miles kicks things off with 15 Songs. We hope you’ll have a listen.
