Transistor Radio for the weeks of August 12-September 1, 2015

This week on In Store: Selections From Transistor’s Live Performance Archive, host Jon Monteverde features a 2012 recording from Chicago folk singer Ty Maxon.

Our Bring Your Own Beat contribution comes from Brooklyn writer, multimedia and performance artist Steven Fletcher working under the name Frankenstein Earphone Radio. The 40-plus-minute piece is called “Nowhere Beats.”

The Good Music Show returns with a mix of “college” and alternative rock, and Stereo Hysteria host Charlie Crane talks to Jeff Murphy of DIY power pop act The Shoes and features music from their 40-year recording career; it’s an expanded two-hour special! As always, Andy Miles kicks things off with 15 Songs. We hope you’ll have a listen.
